Belleville Girls' Basketball gearing up for the upcoming season 10/7/16
The Belleville Girls' Basketball team received an invitation from Hall of Fame Coach, Vivian Stringer, to attend/ observe a practice of the Division 1 NCAA Rutgers Scarlet Knights. 25 athletes and 2 coaches attended the R.A.C. in Piscataway on Saturday October 8th.
Coach Liz Ramirez :
"I was excited to see how many girls showed interest in attending, since we are still in the preseason. They were in awe of the campus, and of the R.A.C. center. They attentively watched the practice, and took some videos with their cell phones. They noticed, how we actually run similar drills at practice, and were impressed to see how these same drills are executed at the college level. Coach Leonard and I took notes, and have solid ideas of what we can add to our practices, that should help us achieve success during the 2016-2017 season. This trip was instrumental in creating a buzz of excitement, about the upcoming season, and a reminder of our shared love for the sport. In addition the girls got to see the campus, and it fueled a discussion, about college plans once they graduate. "

Coaches will be Liz Ramirez (head coach) and Meghan Leonard and Karen Smith as assistant coaches.
